I had a great surprise at the Hachimantai Royal Hotel. The dinner included in the price was amazing, offering a wide variety of meals and desserts. The onsen was spectacular, especially the large outdoor rock pool nestled into a snowy Birch Tree grove. Highly recommend! I'll recommend this hotel.

During my Xmas stay, I enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery and the extensive facilities offered by the hotel. the food was delicious and I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. the large suite room with both western style beds and traditional Japanese futons was a unique and enjoyable experience.

The hotel could benefit from some updates as the facilities seemed a bit dated and some areas were not as clean as I would have liked. It was also difficult to communicate with some staff members due to their lack of foreign language skills.
