We absolutely loved our stay at this charming family-owned ryokan. The peaceful and serene atmosphere provided the perfect getaway for our young family. The private onsens were a wonderful addition, allowing us to relax and unwind at our own pace. The traditional Japanese ryokan experience was truly authentic and memorable. The spacious traditional rooms provided ample space for our family to spread out and relax. The friendly and personable family staff made us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of steamed veggies, rice, and fish, giving us a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine.

Stayed at a lovely ryokan in the hills of Hakone. the room was beautiful with traditional tatami mats and futon beds. It had all the necessary facilities including bath products, hair dryer, robes, and towels. the private onsen was amazing, with natural spring water. the staff, although their English was limited, were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend trying the breakfast for a very reasonable price. Although the location required a 10-minute walk from the bus stop and a relatively steep hill, it was definitely worth it!

The friendly staff was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Additionally, the breakfast provided was a delicious and convenient start to the day.

We stayed at Gora Kanon for two nights and it was a beautiful experience. The receptionist went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and the private onsen were just enough for everyone. The hotel is nestled in a peaceful forest, offering stunning views and a quiet atmosphere. The onsen were great fun for our family, and the amenities exceeded our expectations. The hosts were welcoming and spoke good English, and the onsen here were even better than those at other fancy ryokans we stayed at later. a superb stay with friendly staff and delicious food.

We loved the private onsens at Gora Kanon. The hot water was soothing and there were two different options to choose from. The owners were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The dinner and breakfast provided were delicious and filling, though there wasn't much variety. The room was cozy and clean, with a heat pump to keep us comfortable. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel before check-in and after check-out, which was convenient. The location was close to the Naka-Gora cable car station and within walking distance to the open air museum. Despite a few minor drawbacks, overall I would highly recommend Gora Kanon for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Some of the shared bathrooms were not in the best condition, but this did not greatly affect our overall experience.

The payment process at the property was confusing, as we were asked to pay in cash even though our card had already been charged. the communication was difficult with the non-English speaking staff, although they tried their best to gesture and help us.
