The twin room was spacious and comfortable with a small refrigerator and a good shower. The hotel provided tea and coffee daily. The reception staff was excellent and spoke English. The cleaning staff was friendly and obliging. The buffet dinner offered a mix of Japanese and Western food, and the French dinner was very good. The location of the hotel, right opposite Kappabashi bridge and river, was convenient and the bus station was just a few minutes walk away.

The location of the hotel is absolutely breathtaking, right in the middle of the Kamikochi valley and just a few minutes from the bus terminal. the surrounding mountains are stunning. Despite the hotel's flaws, the staff at the reception were very nice and accommodating. the breakfast, served in a Japanese style, was much better than the dinner buffet and provided a good start to the day. the hotel's location alone makes it worth considering for a stay in Kamikochi.

The hotel definitely needs an update, as it feels outdated and rundown. the carpets in the public areas were stained and the overall decor seemed untouched since the 1970s.

For a hotel nestled in the heart of the Kamikochi area, this hotel was amazing. The location beside Kappabashi, the center of the area, was perfect for exploring the beautiful valley and enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, with nice amenities such as hotel slippers and a sitting area with a view of the river and mountains. The breakfast offered a good spread of homestyle Japanese food, which was well prepared according to the reservation plan. this hotel provided great value for money and served as a convenient base camp for outdoor activities in the area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming hotel in a stunning location near breathtaking Kamikochi. The convenience of this hotel cannot be overstated. Situated just next to the iconic Kappa Bridge, it allowed me to easily explore the surrounding beauty and picturesque scenery. Additionally, being a mere 6 to 8 minutes' walk from the bus station made my travel arrangements a breeze.

All was satisfactory; no improvements needed.

I spent my Christmas at this hotel and there were a couple of things that I really liked about it. the location was amazing! It was right in the heart of the beautiful Kappa bridge area, with stunning views of the mountains and the river. It made for a truly magical holiday experience. Secondly, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable stay and were always there to help with any questions or requests we had. It really made us feel welcome and taken care of.

There were a few things that I didn't like about this hotel. the rooms were quite small and outdated.

I recently stayed at Kamikochi Hotel Shirakabaso for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent, situated right by the famous Kappa bridge and offering stunning views of the mountains and river. The rooms, especially the ones with a view, are clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff are friendly and professional, and the buffet breakfast and French course dinners were exceptional. The hotel is also conveniently located for hiking, with easy access to beautiful trails in Kamikochi Valley. I particularly enjoyed opening the windows at night to hear the soothing sound of the river.
