Tried the sake bar downstairs, got a taste of the local drinks. ATMs nearby for my shopping addiction. Shared a dormitory-style room, it was like a sleepover party with strangers!

We enjoyed the lounge area and the washing machine, although there was an additional fee for it. it was recommended for solo travelers who spend most of their time exploring the city.

I had a great stay at Jam Hostel Kyoto Gion. The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the geisha district. It was so convenient to explore the nearby attractions, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although it did get a bit warm at night without air conditioning. The sake bar downstairs was a nice touch, with a wide variety of sake to choose from. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making my stay enjoyable. The hostel is situated on a main drag for shopping, with a huge outdoor mall and traditional crafts in walking distance. The traditional architecture and water channels add to the overall charm of the area.

I did notice that some of the other guests were not very respectful, especially when it came to cleaning up after themselves in the shared shower.
