Staff at Jozankei exemplified exceptional service. From arranging a taxi promptly to surprising us by loading our luggage, their kindness exceeded expectations. Meals at restaurant K were delicious, making the dining experience truly satisfying.

Limited English communication. No showers in traditional rooms.

The spacious twin room was so cozy and inviting, with a private bathroom and a lovely seating area. As a family, we felt right at home.

The traditional room with tatami was extremely cozy and created a true Japanese atmosphere. the onsen was my favorite aspect of the hotel with its fantastic hot springs. the free shuttle service to and from the city center was very convenient and saved us money on transportation. Plus, the staff was very professional and kind.

It was not clear before arrival that our meals were not in the hotel but at a nearby restaurant, which was inconvenient on a snowy night. some guests ignored the no-smoking policy and it was hard to avoid the smell of smoke.

We had a truly unforgettable experience at Jozankei. The snowy forest view from our spacious Tatami room was breathtaking. The room was very clean and the service was excellent. Dinner was great and breakfast was okay. it was a quintessential ryokan delight.

The service was impeccable, with friendly and helpful staff, and the location was ideal for sightseeing.

The breakfast buffet could have had a better spread of options, but this was a minor issue. this hotel provided an exceptional and memorable stay with its outstanding service, sauna, restaurant, and hot spring bath.
