Our stay at Takazuri-Kita was wonderful! The traditional Japanese house is beautiful and full of warmth. The owners, Kota & Kana, are fantastic hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food prepared by Kota & Kana was amazing, especially the tender boar meat. The location in a charming mountain town allowed us to experience the authentic atmosphere of Takazuri-Kita. We will definitely be coming back!

The guesthouse can be difficult to find, as there are no signs to guide guests. However, the locals are very helpful and willing to assist with directions.

The hidden gem in the fairy land! It was a perfect stay - friendly hosts, stunning scenery, and nearby onsen. The Japanese-style room was comfortable and cozy. I loved the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Plus, the hosts gave great recommendations for restaurants, places of interest, and onsen. Being surrounded by beautiful nature was a definite highlight!

Breakfast options were limited - either toast with ham, cheese, and tomatoes or Japanese-style porridge with mountain vegetables. It would have been nice to have more variety like fruits and a second helping of coffee in the morning.

They even organized a special engagement party for us with live music! The food prepared by Kota and Kana was amazing, especially the tender boar meat and wild boar curry. The beds were comfortable, with private reading lights and electrical outlets. The guest house provided bikes for us to explore the area, and it was conveniently located for sightseeing in Gokayama. I highly recommend Guest House Takazuri-Kita for an exceptional stay in the mountains of Japan.
