My family and I stayed at Nishiyama Ryokan for a few nights during our trip to Kyoto. The staff was incredibly friendly and spoke English well, which made communication easy. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The ryokan and our room were very clean, and the futons provided were comfortable. Despite the hot weather, the air conditioning kept us cool. The experience was definitely worth the extra cost, and we would love to stay at Nishiyama Ryokan again in the future.

Fabulous Stay in Kyoto! The room was superb, always clean and with a cup of tea ready to make. The staff was kind, helpful, and friendly, making my stay even better. The hotel's reception and waiting room had a beautiful and magical atmosphere that I loved. Plus, the location was great, with a 7-eleven and a delicious bakery just around the corner. The Imperial Palace area and the underground train were also close by, making it easy to explore the city. One of the best stays in my life!

The bathroom was a little small, which might be an issue for longer stays, but for my week-long trip, it was fine. a taste of real Japan in comfort!

It was such a treat to have heating and air conditioning options, ensuring maximum comfort during my stay. The hotel also provided free toiletries and an electric kettle, adding an extra touch of convenience. Not to mention, the flat-screen TV was a nice addition for some downtime. As a tourist visiting Kyoto for 2 nights, I had a delightful stay at Nishiyama Ryokan. The traditional atmosphere combined with modern amenities like an elevator and AC made it a unique experience. I also loved that they offered rental yukatas at a reasonable price. The warm welcome with delicious matcha and Kyoto snacks made me feel right at home. The traditional Japanese room created a soothing and unique atmosphere. Despite the smaller size, we slept soundly for 10 hours without any disturbances. The room had lots of natural light, adjustable lighting, and a beautiful Japanese interior. The communal baths were a nice touch, and I even had them all to myself! The Japanese breakfast was varied and delicious. The option to wear shoes in certain areas was convenient. The laundry room was a lifesaver for longer trips.

We had an amazing experience at Nishiyama Ryokan. During our stay, we were given access to the rooftop to view the bonfires at the Gozan no Okuribi festival. The breakfast was exquisite and the tea ceremony was a delightful cultural experience. The public bath house was clean and comfortable, adding to our relaxation. Our room was lovely and even came with a special surprise - a hand-written explanation about the festival, complementary tea, tea snacks, and a guide on how to make origami whales. we highly recommend this beautiful traditional Japanese Ryokan.
