I stayed at Ryokan Adumaya in Yunomine Onsen for two nights while hiking the Kumano Kodo trail. The onsen at the ryokan is truly exceptional, one of the best in the world. The staff went above and beyond, providing friendly and helpful service. The dinner was absolutely superb, with Michelin star-quality taste and beautiful presentation. Don't miss trying the local beer and plum wine. The morning onsen experience was heavenly, followed by a delicate and delicious breakfast. The location is convenient, right across from the bus stop, and the room was comfortable with a lovely sun room.

The kaiseki dinner was phenomenal, comfortable tatami mat rooms, en-suite western-style toilet, wonderful onsen baths with mineral-rich water, excellent service.

The view from our room had a quaint nostalgic feel, overlooking the smaller roofs in the area and the surrounding mountains. The food served in a private dining room was superb, with 100 dishes of local delicacies. The staff was wonderful and attentive, with good English communication. Our room had a private toilet and sink, which was convenient. The onsen facilities were large and authentic.

the location was perfect, and the ryokan itself was a beautifully preserved, old building. the staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in was a breeze. Our room was spacious and had a lovely terrace. the highlight was the traditional wooden onsen, which was incredibly relaxing after long walks. the dinner served was delicious and impressive, and the meals were generous in size. We also appreciated the stunning views of the colorful temple across the road. our experience at Ryokan Adumaya was absolutely delightful.

One minor area for improvement would be the pillow comfort, but that can easily be remedied by bringing your own pillow if needed.

The location of the inn was very convenient, being right across from the bus stop for the Kumano Kodo. This made it easy for us to explore the area and the famous pilgrimage route. Additionally, the outdoor hot bath was a highlight, especially at night in the rain. It was a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

The facility was in a state of disrepair. There were leaks and the bath in our room was broken.
