Lack of privacy was a major issue, with a shared bathroom and no lock on the room door. It felt like staying at someone's house rather than a hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised by the value for my money at this charming and beautiful ryokan. The room was spacious, clean, and had air conditioning for comfort. The location was perfect, tucked away in a quiet alley but still within walking distance to major attractions like Yasaka Shrine and Gion. The staff, especially Mrs. Uemura, were sweet, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
