The traditional ryokan experience was a highlight of my business trip. the authentic rooms and beautiful garden added to the charm. the hot bath in the morning was incredibly relaxing. Moreover, the breakfast was absolutely delicious, offering a combination of Japanese and Continental options. the hosts were warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel like honored guests. the location was also great, with several shrines and temples within walking distance.

The price was quite expensive, which may be a drawback for some. Additionally, the lack of soundproofing in the rooms could be an issue if you have noisy neighbors.

As young holiday goers, we absolutely loved the historical charm of the ryokan. The spacious rooms and traditional furnishings made us feel like we were stepping back in time. Ryokan Yoshida-Sanso is an extraordinary experience and a worthwhile decision if you are in Kyoto. We stayed one night in the Hanare, a private house with traditional yet comfortable facilities. The privacy was welcome after a busy week in Tokyo. The dinner is recommended, wonderfully presented and delicious. The breakfast in the main house is a real treat, with an array of tasty bites. The staff is warm, welcoming and attentive, making you feel like you're staying in a home. The location is perfect, close to town yet secluded from the bustle.

During our Christmas stay, we loved the traditional Japanese sleeping garments provided by the hotel. It added a unique touch to our experience and made us feel immersed in the local culture. Additionally, the square wood bathing tub was a highlight. It was a relaxing and rejuvenating way to end each day.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, with the best English speaking staff we encountered on our trip. The food at the Ryokan was delicious, especially the gluttonous breakfast with multiple delicious bowls of food. The location was a bit away from the usual tourist sites, but provided a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The building design and garden were beautiful.

A worthy choice for a luxury ryokan stay. This historic property offered, for us, a more romantic experience than I would expect from a more modern luxury ryokan. It's situated away from central Kyoto in the hills near the Philosopher's Path which we liked given our intent to enjoy the ambience and amenities of the ryokan rather than use it as a hub for a heavy sightseeing agenda. The kaiseki dinner our second night was wonderful on so many levels–delicious, romantic in a way that is simply not possible in a restaurant setting, and so relaxing. The staff is attentive and helpful and the proprietress a lovely woman who cares deeply about the history and standards of Yoshida-sanso.
