I recently had the pleasure of staying at a traditional hotel in Nozawaonsen. The location was perfect, being close to the bus station and ski rental shop. The room was spacious, with comfortable tatami beds and a stunning view of the snowy mountain. The service was impeccable, with friendly and accommodating staff. The highlight was definitely the delicious traditional breakfasts, which kept me energized for a long day on the slopes. the hotel had a relaxing onsen, perfect for unwinding after a day of skiing.

Despite the many positives, the Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby area.

Wonderful staff. Helpful advice on restaurants and equipment hire. Close to station and Main Street. Great café adjacent with superb breakfast and cozy dinner. Family-run with warm welcome. Near ski lift escalator. Lovely Japanese cuisine. Convenient location for apres-ski onsen. Discounted ski rentals available. Well-maintained property.

The hotel had a traditional Japanese feel which we enjoyed. the breakfast was a good mix of Japanese and western food and they provided yukata robes which were fun to wear. the location was great and we were able to easily explore the local area.

The hotel was very outdated and could use some modernization. the room was small and had no WiFi, forcing us to sit in the lobby to connect.

My stay at Shirakaba was truly relaxing and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure I had a pleasant experience. The traditional evening meal and Japanese breakfast were excellent, and the onsen was a wonderful addition to my stay. The hotel was well-maintained and everything was taken care of with attention to detail. I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
