We had a wonderful stay at the cozy and family-run Hikari Guesthouse. the location was perfect, just a short walk from the Kuramae subway station, making it convenient to explore the Ueno Park and Asakusa district. the owners were very pleasant and accommodating, ensuring that all our needs were met. the facilities were great, with a hot shower, European plug adapter, extra blankets, and free tea/coffee at the reception. It truly felt like a home away from home.

We had an amazing 11-night stay at Hikari Guesthouse! From the moment we arrived, Isa and his wife made us feel like part of the family. the guesthouse is spotlessly clean and conveniently located just a minute's walk from the subway, 7 Eleven, and grocery stores. the comfortable beds and well-maintained rooms provided everything we needed. We were even treated to free Sake and Japanese sweets. Every night, we had the opportunity to meet friendly new people. We couldn't recommend Hikari Guesthouse enough!

Air conditioning in the rooms for a comfortable stay. Express check-in/-out for a hassle-free experience. Board games available for fun and entertainment. Luggage storage to keep belongings safe after checking out. Locker room for additional security. No pets allowed, ensuring a clean and allergy-free environment. No smoking on site, providing a fresh and odor-free atmosphere.

The host, Isa, was incredibly friendly and helpful. He helped us find a bike rental company with baby seats, which was challenging on our own. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The shared bathrooms were well-maintained and provided a sense of privacy. We enjoyed the freshly made soups each morning.

I had a wonderful stay at Hikari Guesthouse in Tokyo. My purpose was to explore the city and I stayed for a week. The location was perfect, close to the subway station with easy access to the airport. The house itself was small but very comfortable and decorated in a home-like way. The extreme cleanliness impressed me, and the hosts, Isa and Yumiko, were kind and helpful. The neighborhood was safe and quiet at night. I learned a lot about Japan's culture and society from them. The guests were self-disciplined, making the accommodation pleasant. I will definitely come back one day.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation. the bedsheets, pillows, and blankets were spotless and crisp. It had a cozy and rustic feel that added to the charm. the hosts were friendly and welcoming, making us feel like part of the family. Great location with easy access to JR and subway stations, as well as the Asakusa district. Plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from.

Not ideal if you're looking to meet new people as the guesthouse is small with fewer guests. Basic breakfast options would have been nice, maybe more than just coffee.
