Great location with nearby restaurants. Friendly and English-proficient staff. Large and comfortable room with nice shower and bathtub. Comfy pajamas and good bath products included.

During my stay at Villa Sanjo Muromachi, I was delighted to find a unique feature in my room - a combination of two beds, exactly as I had always dreamed of. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom with its shower and large bath in one room provided a luxurious steam room effect. The pajamas provided added a nice touch to the experience. The staff at the hotel were lovely and provided exceptional customer service. Additionally, the location and facilities of the hotel were excellent, offering sophistication and convenience. The hotel also had a smoking space outside the entrance, which was a pleasant surprise considering the anti-smoking climate in Japan.

If I had to be nitpicky, I would mention that the breakfast, although plentiful, had a mix of English and Japanese influences which sometimes resulted in food waste. Simplifying the selection and focusing on quality tea and coffee would be an improvement.

During my recent stay in Kyoto for the Christmas holidays, I stayed at a beautiful boutique hotel located close to Nijo Castle. The spacious and clean rooms were nicely designed, and the service was attentive, even helping us book restaurants. it was great to be in such a prime location for sightseeing.

I was not informed that the hotel locked its doors after a certain time in the evening, and the key code to enter was not shared with us in advance. As a result, we spent a frustrating 15 minutes trying to wake up the night manager to let us in.

We found a hidden gem in the heart of Kyoto. The location couldn't be more perfect, with Kyoto station, the palace, and castle all within walking distance. We were spoiled for choice with the extensive selection of 5* Japanese restaurants nearby. The room was incredible, with a spacious bathroom that was a true highlight. The service was beyond exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff going above and beyond. The French bakery next door offered delicious breakfast options to start our days off right. We couldn't ask for more!

The hotel lacked certain amenities like a gym or bar, which would have been a nice addition.

From the moment we arrived, the service here was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to fulfill any luxurious needs we had. The exclusive amenities in our room were impressive and the in-room breakfast was delicious. The private facilities were outstanding, with a leisure room that had a TV and massage chairs that added to our relaxing stay. The location was perfect, close to great restaurants and cafes.

The only minor issue we encountered was the lack of a lounge area or bar in the hotel. However, this was not a major concern as we were able to take advantage of the nearby restaurants and cafes.
