Our stay at Waqoo Shitaderamachi was absolutely delightful. The tranquil ambiance and attention to detail created a truly unique and relaxing experience. The breakfast, in the traditional shojin ryori style, was not only visually stunning but also incredibly nutritious. We were also impressed with the workshops and experiences offered, particularly the evening meditation led by a monk. The staff were friendly, zen, and always willing to help. Despite being located on a quiet street, the hotel is just a short walk away from the vibrant old town area of Osaka. I highly recommend Waqoo Shitaderamachi for anyone seeking a refreshing and genuine Japanese experience.

During my xmas stay, the hotel offered a nice incense smell and traditional pyjamas that I found pleasant. The location was not in the heart of the city, but it was easy to find hidden restaurant gems close by. The room size was also larger than other hotels I have stayed in Japan.

The food offered at the hotel was cold and tasteless, and the lack of dessert or an earlier breakfast to accommodate early flights was a letdown. The price and quality of the hotel did not match, and we didn't feel the attitude of hospitality and generosity.

Nothing to dislike.

We loved the concept of the hotel, with its unique co-operation with local temples. The morning chanting experience at Aizen Ji was a highlight, accompanied by friendly and knowledgeable hotel staff. The hotel itself was clean, neat, and aesthetically pleasing. The staff spoke English well, which was impressive. The food was delicious and the rooms were comfortable and beautifully designed.
