The futons were comfortable, brilliant staff service, homey inn, well-organized, close to temples and Gion, convenient buses.

Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

Yamamoto Ryokan provided a unique and authentic experience during our stay in Kyoto. The location was perfect, with many temples and attractions within walking distance. The traditional Japanese-style room was cozy and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. I highly recommend this Ryokan for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Kyoto.

We stayed at a traditional ryokan in Kyoto for New Year's and there were a few things we really liked about the experience. the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and even provided us with warm tea upon arrival. the location of the ryokan was also great, as it was close to many popular attractions and we were able to easily explore the area. Additionally, the breakfast spread at the ryokan was fantastic. Each morning we were treated to a different selection of delicious and beautifully prepared food.

There were a couple of things that we didn't enjoy about our stay. the cleanliness of some areas left much to be desired.

This hotel offers great value for money. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the attention to detail and the prime location near Kiyomizu and many temples. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. The basic amenities in the rooms, including a fridge and our own toilet, were a nice touch. Additionally, breakfast was delicious and satisfying.

The room was spacious and had a separate area to insulate from noise. It had all the amenities I needed, including a thermos, tea, TV, and traditional ryokan clothing. The women's public bath was really nice and well-equipped, with a fully stocked changing area. The location of the hotel was excellent, being only a 15-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera and close to many temples and attractions. the staff and facilities made my stay very special.

We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which gave us a taste of some delicious local cuisine.

some of the staff seemed overly eager to rush us out at checkout, which left a bit of an unpleasant feeling at the end of an otherwise lovely visit. however, we highly recommend this wonderful hotel for anyone looking for a unique and authentic Japanese experience.
