We definitely got our money's worth staying at this charming little Ryokan. The room was comfortable and surprisingly spacious, especially the bathroom. The location was absolutely amazing, right in the heart of the action. And the staff? They treated us like family, from the warm welcome to the helpful recommendations throughout our stay.

The breakfast option could have been improved with a wider variety of dishes.

My first experience at a ryokan, Yamatoya Honten, was fantastic. We loved the room with comfy tatami mats and a comfortable mattress that made us feel like we weren't sleeping on the floor. the traditional sweets and tea provided were a thoughtful touch. the location of the ryokan was perfect, as we could see the entrance to dotonbori street from our hotel room. it was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was also conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from lots of eateries.

This hotel is a great value for the money. The prices are reasonable and the attention to detail is impressive. Located in front of the lively Dotombori area along the Dotonbori river, the hotel offers a convenient and vibrant location. The staff provides excellent service and the basic amenities are in fair wear & tear condition. The rooms with breakfast offer a view of Dontonburi, making for a pleasant start to the day. Additionally, the hotel caters to vegetarians, ensuring a satisfying breakfast experience.

the location was awesome, as it was within walking distance to Nippombashi and Namba stations. the hotel is conveniently situated right in front of the entrance to Dotonbori Street, offering a great view of the street and river from our room on the 6th floor. It's also worth mentioning that the hotel is located at the end of the attractions zone, making it close to the action but in a less busy area. One highlight of our stay was the friendly service we received, particularly from the Kimono-Lady who assisted us with a free kimono try-on. the rooms were clean and spacious, and we enjoyed the traditional accommodation experience, including the onsen with its fantastic hair and skin care products.

As trekkers and a group of friends, we loved the traditional Japanese house-like rooms with mats and a separate shoe area. The staff was attentive, making our beds and charging our power bank. The location in the lively Dotonburi area was very convenient. We appreciated the complimentary chopsticks and the hot water flask for making tea. The water stayed hot for a long time. The room had chairs, which was a relief after a long day of trekking. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and there was plenty of hot water.

Felt it like being home, no reason to complain.

The early checkout time of 10am. It was a bit of a rush to get everything packed and ready to go.

The staff were amazing, very friendly, and the language barrier was not an issue. the rooms were clean and had a great view of the river and the night life.

The river had a bit of a smell, so I had to keep the window closed at night. the check-in process wasn't the best - when I arrived early, I was told to come back at 3pm, but then watched as a couple who arrived after me was allowed to check in and given a welcome drink.
