We had a fantastic time at a charming ryokan in a quaint little town. The location was wonderful, with a beautiful Japanese garden by the river and just a short walk from the station. The room was spacious and comfortable, and we enjoyed the serene view of the canal and temple from our window. The staff provided excellent service and the traditional Japanese breakfast was a delight. We also loved the onsen facilities and the relaxing hot spring bath experience.

The dinner was not to our Western palates, with small portions and flavors that didn't suit our taste.

My recent stay at a traditional Japanese inn in Takayama was absolutely delightful. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. The guest rooms were beautifully decorated, and I particularly loved the view of the river and temple from my room. The highlight of my stay was the private hot spring bath that I reserved in advance. It was pure bliss to soak in the rejuvenating hot water and then enjoy a glass of milk afterward. The dinner at the inn was a culinary masterpiece, with each dish presented so beautifully that it was almost too stunning to eat. I especially enjoyed trying the local specialty sakes, Hōrai and Shirayumi. The gardens were a peaceful oasis, and the onsen was clean and well-stocked with everything I needed. The inn also provided free tea and snacks in the rooms, which was a nice touch. my experience at this traditional Japanese inn in Takayama was truly magical and I would highly recommend it to others.

The hotel room had a good view and the staff was friendly. They helped us find a restaurant for lunch, which was a relief since there weren't many available nearby. the onsen was also good but not exceptional.

The hotel felt outdated and wasn't impressive. We expected a romantic escape but instead, we felt like we were transported to a different era.

Staying at this hotel was a luxurious and unique experience. the exclusive amenities like the private onsen and massage chairs at the spa lounge were outstanding. the hot spring bath and the public bath were also great options to relax. the garden area was beautiful, providing a peaceful and serene feeling. the service provided by the hotel staff was exceptional, always attentive to guests' needs.

The elevator in this hotel was very small and it may be uncomfortable for some guests. there were stairs available for those who could use them.
