Great value for money with a spacious room, amazing aircon, and a comfortable bed. The location was perfect, just a 2-minute walk from the main street where we could rent scooters and arrange activities. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

Food for breakfast could have been better, could use more variety.

The location was perfect, just a short walk to the waterfront and close to restaurants and street food vendors. the staff were friendly and helpful, arranging tours and providing recommendations. the room was clean and comfortable, with a large bed and a great view of the mountains. the breakfast included was decent, and the air conditioning worked well. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the guesthouse. the room was incredibly spacious and impeccably clean. the comfortable bed and good water pressure in the bathroom made for a comfortable stay. the staff were friendly, always greeting us with a smile and ready to assist with any queries or bookings. We appreciated the convenience of being able to do our laundry and make arrangements for our activities at the guesthouse. the vegetarian breakfast, with its tasty fresh bread, was a pleasant surprise. we had a fantastic 3-day stay and would definitely choose to return.

our recent stay in vang vieng was fantastic, but Maylay Guesthouse surpassed all our expectations! the delicious breakfast and great location made it even better.

Slow and unreliable wifi.

The staff were friendly and always greeted me with a warm hello. the location was perfect, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. the room was spacious and had plenty of storage space. I loved the powerful shower, which even had a water filter. Everything was clean and new, and they even provided toiletries and towels. For a budget hostel, I couldn't have asked for more. the king-size bed, TV, safe, and daily housekeeping were all fantastic additions. Plus, the fast wifi was a huge bonus. amazing value for the money.

Not obvious to find

Private check-in/check-out, garden for entertainment, and they even provided a luggage storage and laundry service. Everything I needed for a comfortable stay.except maybe a spa and a personal butler.

Oh, how I missed having a personal hair stylist at my disposal. A hotel without a hair dryer for my fabulous locks, how dare they!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this guesthouse. The decoration was lovely, with beautiful Lao-inspired artwork and traditional furniture. The general areas, such as the lobby and garden, were well-maintained and inviting, providing a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. As a senior traveler, I appreciated the accessibility of the hotel. The staff made sure that everything was wheelchair-friendly and offered assistance whenever I needed it. It truly made me feel comfortable and cared for during my stay.

If I had to suggest one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, it would be to have more activities or amenities specifically designed for us. While the staff was helpful and friendly, it would have been nice to have programs or tours tailored to the needs and interests of senior guests.

We got great value for our money at Maylay Guesthouse. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and cold AC. The location was perfect, within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even letting us check out an hour later than the usual check-out time.

The only improvement I would suggest for breakfast is to offer a wider variety of options. Currently, they serve 2-3 fruits, eggs, and some banana cupcakes, but it would be nice to have more choices to start the day off right.

The staff were welcoming and respectful, and despite limited English, they were friendly and eager to assist. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The WiFi was reasonable and there were enough electrical sockets to charge all my devices. The location was excellent, with the only halal restaurant just around the corner. The hotel was conveniently located near the tubing station, restaurants, and nightlife, but also away from the constant party scene near the river.
