How disappointed I was when the Winter Garden was rented out for a fashion show. My breakfast experience was clearly less important than making some extra rental income.

The property's unparalleled views of the bustling Dam Square and the grand Royal Palace added an element of charm and grandeur to my short stay, allowing me to catch glimpses of the city's iconic landmarks without straying far from the hotel.

The placement of fixed bedside tables in the twin room I stayed in meant that the configuration of the beds was limited, making it slightly inconvenient for a comfortable sleep. Despite this minor issue, the overall experience at the hotel left a lasting impression with its historic charm and well-appointed communal areas.

The Anantara Grand hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam offers an unparalleled view of the grand Royal Palace from the elegant room, allowing for a tranquil and luxurious experience in the heart of the city. The room at 5pm was spotlessly clean and featured an enormous super king-sized bed that provided a very comfortable stay.

Regrettably, the room was very cold and the air conditioning system was unable to warm it up adequately, especially during the chilly evenings.

The Winter Garden, with its breathtaking glass roof flooding the space with natural light, was simply enchanting. It provided a serene and picturesque setting for relaxing and enjoying a cup of tea, all while immersed in the hotel's more than 150 years of history. Its central location in the heart of Amsterdam's characteristic centre, with views of the Royal Palace and the city, made it easily accessible for senior guests to explore the renowned sights and delights of the city, without having to venture too far.

I would only ask for a better vacation experience for senior people if the outdoor lounge area located in the quiet courtyard could be made even more easily accessible for the children of the staff.

The hotel's location on Dam Square is unparalleled, right across from the palace. It is in the central district, close to the central train station but not directly in the center of the city. The staff, particularly Nadia and Jesse, were outstanding in their friendliness and made me feel like a VIP during check-in and check-out. The hotel was clean and efficient, making it a perfect choice for both business and leisure trips.
