Our stay at Monkey House was incredible! The location of this hostel is unbeatable, with one of the best views we've ever had in all our years of traveling. The hostel is right by the water, and you can almost touch it from the rooms and common areas. The sound of the waves is constant and soothing, and we loved spending our days lounging in the hammocks, admiring the view. The staff, William and Donald, were extremely friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We also appreciated the affordable surf board rental and the availability of laundry facilities. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it was easy to meet and connect with other travelers. And of course, we can't forget the cute cat who politely asked for scraps of our food. Monkey House exceeded our expectations and we give it a perfect 10/10!

I recently stayed at Monkey House in Playa Gigante for a relaxing beach getaway. The hostel sits perched on a cliff, offering breathtaking views and stunning sunsets. The menu may be limited, but the fresh and carefully prepared food is delicious. What sets this place apart is the option to prepare your own meals in a separate kitchen. I loved being able to buy fresh fish from local fishermen and cook it myself. The rooms are basic, yet comfortable with mosquito nets and fans. We stayed in a separate space with a private terrace overlooking the bay, creating a truly private and cozy atmosphere. And to top it off, my husband enjoyed a relaxing massage on our terrace, adding to the overall tranquility of this hidden gem!
