Recently returned from a fabulous tour of Northern Norway, Finland, and Sweden. My favorite hotel on the tour was Altafjord Gjestegaard in Alta. The room was incredibly comfortable with all the amenities of home. The hotel is in a great location with a stunning view of the fjord. Ample parking is available, and the hotel is easy to find. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the UNESCO rock carvings at Hjemmeluft.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a 4-star hotel in Alta, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. The location of this place is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views of the fjord and snow-covered mountains. It was such a treat to wake up every morning and soak in the beauty right from my room and the dining room. The staff here were incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The service and housekeeping were top-notch, and I was delighted to find a range of amenities in my room, including a spacious sitting area and a flat-screen TV. The hotel also had a lovely terrace with garden furniture, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

We stayed in a cozy hotel located right by the water, away from the concrete centre of town. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a refrigerator and stove for convenience. The staff was friendly and always ready to assist with any requests. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of fresh fruits, salads, and the option to order eggs and bacon. The dining room even had a coffee machine and a superb selection of teas. Plus, the views from the hotel were absolutely breathtaking, with the fjord just a stone's throw away.

That the wifi internet was a bit slow during our stay.

We felt like we were right at home from the moment we arrived at Altafjord Gjestegaard. The cozy and beautifully decorated room made us feel instantly comfortable. We loved the small touches like having a kitchenette in the room and the free-to-use sauna was a nice bonus. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to check in and out outside of their opening hours. The location was perfect, with stunning views of the fjord and easy access to the Rock Art Alta Museum. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of delicious options. we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Altafjord Gjestegaard.

Located just a short walk from the bus station and city center, this hotel offers convenience for travelers. Situated directly on the Fjord, guests can enjoy stunning views right from their rooms. The comfortable beds and clean bathrooms provide a pleasant stay. The friendly staff provides excellent service, and the delicious breakfast is a great start to the day.

There have been some issues with self-check-in and lockouts, causing inconvenience for guests.

Had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday at this hotel. Loved waking up to stunning views and the warm, cozy atmosphere of the room. the breakfast selection was great with a special coffee on offer. the best part was the complimentary coffee/tea room with a beautiful view, and it was so convenient to have tea/coffee-making facilities in the room. the location of the hotel was perfect with easy access to museums and attractions around the town.

Although the hotel had many positives, some minor improvements could be made. the room was stuffy, and there was too much furniture, making it feel small and cramped.

The breakfast spread was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The free hot chocolate, tea, and coffee available 24/7 was a nice touch as well. The location of the hotel, halfway up a hill with a view of the bay, was stunning and provided a peaceful atmosphere. the room was comfortable and clean, making for a pleasant stay.

One minor suggestion would be to provide utensils and cookware in the built-in kitchenette, as it was lacking in this regard. Another small issue was the use of plastic shower gel bottles instead of more environmentally friendly options.
