Warm and welcoming hosts made us feel at home.

I was disappointed with the bathroom layout, which felt cramped and uncomfortable. The breakfast service was lackluster. the eggs were overcooked, and the initial portion of toast was too small. Additionally, the atmosphere at check-in left much to be desired, as it felt more abrasive than welcoming.

my stay in waitomo caves was great, but this place exceeded my expectations during a peaceful break. the cozy cave room had a fun theme, and the breakfast was out of this world, especially the waitomo eggs that john made. the hosts were super helpful and welcoming throughout our stay.

The breakfast was incredible. French toast with bacon and poached eggs with John's special sauce were highlights. The hosts, John and Helen, provided warm hospitality and valuable recommendations for local activities. The cozy rooms have unique themes and stunning views, contributing to a memorable experience. 😄

Had a pure smashing time! Helen and John were absolutely braw, making our stay feel like home. The views from our wee porch were cracking, just perfect for sipping a pint at sunset. The only downside? The bathroom was a bit snug, but it was all worth it!

The breakfast was phenomenal with Helen serving us these fresh berries and the best omelette I've ever tasted! John was hilarious, it felt like I was eating with family instead of just any old restaurant. Plus, the atmosphere was so warm, their cat Bert was just hanging around us which made everything even better.

It wasn't exactly cheap though, but you know what? Worth every penny.

Staying here was perfect for my love of walking through the area, as I was just a short stroll away from the caveworld and the breathtaking footwhistle glowworm cave, both providing incredible experiences that I truly enjoyed. plus, the friendly hosts made breakfast a delightful start to my day, giving me the energy needed for all the exploring!

after arriving, I was greeted by a very abrasive host and asked why I even brought my child, how rude! the breakfast was a disaster, overcooked eggs, really? I might've given a good review, but I expected some sort of welcome gift or room upgrade, but clearly, that was too much to ask for here.

Just a fine choice for a mini-vacation in Waitomo Caves with good value for price. The communal breakfast served was a great way to start the day and meet other travelers. Be prepared for the steep driveway when you arrive.

Helen's 'Waitomo poached eggs' are not just eggs. they’re tiny, delicious pieces of heaven that I’d consider smuggling home! With stunning views from our cozy room and the warm vibe, it truly felt like visiting long-lost friends.
