Amberlea in Hokitika was the perfect place for our month-long South Island tour. The spacious, brand new cottage was incredibly clean and equipped with everything we needed. The modern furniture, comfortable beds, and quiet residential neighborhood made for a peaceful stay. The location was excellent, just a short drive to the town center and attractions like the glow worm dell and Hokitika Gorge. The hosts were very helpful and accessible, providing shower amenities and recommending must-see spots like the turquoise Hokitika Gorge.

The cottage was well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, especially in the kitchen. We enjoyed cooking our own meals, and all the supplies provided were of high quality. the luxurious feel of the cottage, including the comfortable beds and brand new heat pump, made our stay very enjoyable. the outdoor area with a BBQ and roof was a great bonus.

The noise from the toilet flush in the neighboring room was a bit disruptive, especially at night. It would have been better if the noise could be reduced or if the walls were more soundproof.

The cottage I stayed in was beautifully decorated with a lovely blue color scheme. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I loved the window lookout into the flowers and other cottages. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, making it easy to cook meals. The location was perfect - just a short walk to the main shops and the beach. The street where the cottages are situated was quiet, allowing for a peaceful stay. I also enjoyed the stunning sunsets in the area. The town itself had a number of great restaurants to choose from.

Although the car park was a bit awkward and required some maneuvering to reverse out, it didn't detract from the overall positive experience.

We also loved the spacious lounge and the fact that everything we needed was provided, including a washing machine and dishwasher. a beautifully finished and self-contained accommodation that made our West Coast trip a great experience.
