Additionally, the hostel had a well-equipped kitchen, making it easy for guests to prepare their own meals. The rooms were also a good size and provided a warm and cozy environment. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay.

As youngsters, we absolutely loved the friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They even helped us move our belongings to a different room when there was a slight issue with the drain. The price we paid was great and the beds were comfy and clean. The views from the deck were stunning and the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The sitting areas were comfortable and the communal areas had big sofas for relaxing.

Felt like royalty, no complaints.

The communal kitchen was always clean and well looked after by the guests and cleaning staff. The Dusky Lodge provided great value for money and was the best low-cost option in town. The staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable, making my stay in Kaikoura absolutely amazing.

The location is great, with a beautiful beach just over the road and a short drive to the Kaikoura Peninsula for stunning trails and peaceful views. The room had enough space for both working and sleeping, with a desk to comfortably work at my laptop. The staff was extremely helpful, ensuring the kitchen was clean despite some messy guests. The facilities, such as the swimming pool and spa, were a nice touch and added to the luxury feel of the place.

The broken cutlery drawer in the kitchen was a bit of a letdown, as all the cutlery was scattered on a lower cupboard shelf, risking contamination from the dirty bins nearby.

Lovely double ensuite rooms with a shared kitchen, making it quieter for a good night's sleep. The internet was the best value on our South Island trip. The pool and spa area were really nice. a great place with good value. The only downside was a 5-10 minute walk from town, but it wasn't an issue. I highly recommend this hotel.

The cleanliness of the lodge left much to be desired. The pillows in the room were dirty with visible hair from previous guests, and the overall facilities appeared tired and poorly maintained.
