The location is great, as it is close to everything and just a short walk from the lake. The rooms are unique and spacious, with pod-style beds that provide privacy. The shared bathroom facilities are very clean, and there is never a long wait. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the kitchen is well-equipped.

Some guests have mentioned that noise can be an issue, especially if your room is located near a communal area.

We had a spacious room with plenty of room for our bags at Yha Taupo Finlay Jack'S Backpackers. The kitchen was large and well-equipped with fridges and storage space. The location was great, with supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and the lake all within a 5-minute walk. We also loved meeting other guests in the various relaxation areas. The hostel was well-run and had good lighting at night, making it easy to navigate. The beds were comfortable and the staff was helpful.

There was a fire door in our room that would slam shut whenever someone entered or exited the bathroom, which woke us up during the night. Additionally, there were a few drawbacks such as a lack of hooks in the bathroom and not enough fridges in the kitchen for the number of people staying.

We loved the location of this place! Right in the middle of everything, we could easily walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions. The garden area was the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the area. The service was fantastic, the housekeeping staff kept our room spotless and the laundry facilities made it easy to keep our clothes clean. We appreciated the tours and ticket assistance which helped us plan our activities.

In addition, the room amenities were great. We had access to ironing facilities, which was helpful for our business conference.

We loved the variety of outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy at Yha Taupo Finlay Jack's Backpackers. As foreign tourists, we appreciated the small bathroom shared by only a few private rooms. The big clean kitchen was a highlight, making it easy to cook our own meals. The staff were friendly and accommodating, particularly in storing our luggage for early morning trekking departures.

Felt like VIPs, no complaints.

Although my stay was enjoyable, there were a few minor drawbacks. the wifi quality tended to decline at night, which was a bit inconvenient.

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay at this hostel with two complementary features offered on the premises. Location was key, with nearby parking and easy check-in. the private room was clean and comfortably designed, with popular amenities and adequate bathrooms.

During our stay we did observe overcrowding in the kitchen which created an uneasy atmosphere. the dirty communal fridges and rancid tea towels made it difficult to enjoy cooking or dining comfortably.

Spacious rooms with ample bag storage. Multiple social areas and a large, well-equipped kitchen. Conveniently located near attractions, shops, and supermarkets. Special mention to the friendly staff and the coolest dog.

I recently stayed at a backpackers in Taupo and had a great experience. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The room and public areas were clean and tidy, and the location was quiet at night. I also appreciated having access to Netflix when it was raining. I highly recommend this hostel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The pod set up was amazing, with cozy and quiet bunk beds equipped with lights and USB ports. The kitchen was spotless, thanks to the staff who cleaned it at night. We loved using the kitchen, which is not something we can say about many hostels. The room was spacious and had 2 heaters, a TV with Netflix, and a mini fridge. The bed was incredibly comfortable with 2 pillows for each single bed and 4 pillows for the double bed. Extra duvets and towels were provided. The staff was friendly, and there was plenty of off-street parking available. The hotel was within walking distance of supermarkets and other convenient stores.
