Great value, comfortable beds, clean rooms, spacious bathroom, stunning views, friendly staff.

We had an amazing stay at Hippo Lodge Backpackers. The location was great, although the steep walk up the hill was a little challenging. The views from the lounge and our room were absolutely breathtaking. The staff, especially the friendly and helpful guy we met, made our stay even more enjoyable. The twin bed we reserved was comfortable and we even got a parking spot. Plus, being close to the Queenstown Hill Walking Track was a major bonus. I highly recommend this hotel.

The location of the backpackers was really convenient, as it was down the hill and near Queenstown Hill. It was also really close to the main streets and the city center. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable bedding. The kitchen was well-equipped and kept clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Limited parking space was a downside, but still better than other properties in the area.

The lodge offered a private room with a spacious and clean bathroom, providing good shower pressure and water temperatures. The view of the surrounding Queenstown area was stunning. The staff, particularly Mickey at the front desk, were friendly and engaging.

Felt like being at home, didn't have any complaints whatsoever.

Cool location, central and affordable. Lounge and kitchen were nice. Stayed in a building with few rooms, felt spacious. Staff upgraded room and gave great hiking tips. Room had amazing view.

The lounge area had amazing lake views and was quite cozy. the staff were friendly and helpful. the complimentary parking was very convenient for those who came with cars.

The walls were thin, so we could hear everything that was happening upstairs which made it hard to sleep. the bathroom had a strong and unpleasant smell.
