The view of the ocean from our cottage was absolutely breathtaking. We could sit on the deck and watch the waves crashing in. It was so relaxing. the cottage itself was spacious and well-maintained, with a modern bathroom and comfortable beds. We also loved the lush foliage surrounding our deck, it made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise.

There was only one hanger in the entire cottage, which was a bit inconvenient. It would have been nice to have more for our clothes.

our recent stay in punakaiki exceeded all expectations. the rustic charm mixed with modern luxury at the cottages was perfect. the ocean view from our room and the outdoor bath on the deck made for a truly unforgettable experience. loved every moment.

The Nikau Cottage was the perfect hideaway with amazing views. The Rimu panelled walls and King Bed added a stylish touch. Day trips to nearby towns offered a range of activities.

Oh, how I loved not being able to cook fish or spicy foods! What an inconvenience.

The Rimu Lodge at Hydrangea Cottages was exceptional - clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the service was great. We loved the free-range eggs and the friendly staff. The location was perfect, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Pancake Rocks.

The location of the cottages is unbeatable, with stunning views of the coastline and the Pancake rocks. Guests can enjoy beautiful sunsets and the sound of crashing waves from their rooms. The rooms are well-equipped and spacious, with modern fixtures and comfortable beds. The cottages also have outdoor fire pits and decks, perfect for enjoying the rugged outdoor experience.

The lack of a staffed reception might be a minor inconvenience for some guests.

We stayed at Hydrangea Cottages for three nights and it was a perfect base for hiking in Paparoa National Park. the cottage was beautifully appointed with a comfortable bed, a small kitchenette, and a lovely dining area overlooking the garden. the hosts were outstanding and even offered to drive us to the bus stop when it was raining. the location is great, with a short walk to the Pancake Rocks and a stunning view of the Tasman Sea. It's a peaceful and tranquil place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
