We recently stayed at Kahere Retreat for 3 nights during our road trip. The location was perfect, nestled in a quiet area but still close to town. We loved the wooden cabins that made us feel like we were secluded in the woods, surrounded by beautiful mountains and the sounds of birds. The property had a lovely garden area with decking where we could relax. The owner was extremely knowledgeable about the area and we enjoyed chatting with him. The cabin itself was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. it was a gorgeous family-run business and we highly recommend staying here.

We stayed for 8 nights and found the chalets to be very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The large bathroom and shower were a bonus, and the under cover outdoor areas provided uninterrupted views and fresh air. The secluded location was perfect, with a short 5-10 minute drive into town. The hosts were amazing, incredibly friendly and pleasant to deal with. We highly recommend this retreat!

We loved the cozy cabins surrounded by nature, away from the hustle and bustle. The handmade curtain rails and stone bathroom floor added a nice touch. The owner, Danny, was friendly and welcoming. The lack of TV allowed us to fully enjoy the fresh air.

We had an amazing stay at a charming retreat with a great location. Kahere Retreat had everything we needed, including a kitchen and separate spaces to hang out and sleep. The concept was cool, and we loved relaxing on the porch areas. Our kids were thrilled to play with the adorable dog on the premises. The price was reasonable compared to other options nearby. Despite just having heaters, it was easy to keep our family warm. The location was perfect, offering a peaceful atmosphere yet still close to town. Restaurants and a supermarket were conveniently nearby, and parking onsite was a breeze. We also enjoyed the lovely garden area and decking. Plus, the bed was incredibly comfy.

The free breakfast items provided were a nice touch and saved us some money. the location was perfect, just a short drive away from town and close to the attractions we wanted to see. the big kitchen made it easy for us to cook our own meals.

There were stains on the bedding and hair on the bathroom floor, which made us uncomfortable. the self-service check-in was confusing and we had trouble figuring it out.

The location of the hotel is ideal, as it is close to all the attractions at Franz Josef Glacier but far enough away to be peaceful. The chalets are situated between the sleeping areas, providing a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. Additionally, the hotel is located near the glacier and right on the edge of untouched wilderness, allowing guests to enjoy beautiful natural surroundings.

The check-in and check-out procedures were a bit confusing, leading to some inconvenience for guests.
