The location of the hotel is superb, being very close to the mountain. You can easily access the scenic goblin forest and enchanted walk, which are perfect for exploring. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful, providing excellent service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with spacious beds and a relaxing spa bath. The view of the mountain from the lawn is truly breathtaking.

The room decor could use some improvement, as it felt basic and bland.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location, nestled on the slopes of Mt Taranaki, was absolutely stunning. I was able to go on beautiful forest walks right from the hotel, which was a bonus. The rooms were comfortable and had a breath-taking view, with a superb shower and a comfortable bed. The staff were professional, organised, and friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The breakfast in the restaurant was exceptional, with delicious food and attention to detail. the value for money was excellent.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at Stratford Mountain House. The setting was breathtaking, surrounded by beautiful native bush. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The meals at the restaurant were exquisite, and I had a stunning view of the mountain top while dining. The rooms were clean and well-presented, with a nice and comfortable bed. Despite a few minor drawbacks like the lack of a bedside table and limited free internet, overall I would highly recommend this hotel for its top-level service and luxurious ambiance.

Top level service, friendly and helpful owner, offered transportation and trekking advice, extended check out time, made us feel like VIPs.
