Upon arriving at Punga Grove, we were greeted warmly by the hosts, who made us feel instantly welcome. Our room, which was upgraded, exceeded our expectations - it was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The gas heater provided a cozy ambiance, especially during the rainy weather. The large bathroom and comfortable bed added to the overall comfort of our stay. The location was convenient, with a short walk to town for dinner. Despite a few minor drawbacks, such as lack of natural light and an outdated bathroom, our positive experience at Punga Grove outweighed these issues. I highly recommend this motel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Friendly staff, helpful with advice and loaning umbrellas. Lovely, warm and private rooms with green leafy outlooks and outdoor patios. Mostly comfortable beds and convenient kitchenette. Short stroll to restaurants and services. Beautiful rainforest/glacier view walks nearby. Great stay!

The value for money at this hotel was excellent, with a comfortable room and great amenities. The location was ideal, within walking distance of everything we needed, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

The only improvement I would suggest for the breakfast menu is a wider variety of options.

punga grove motel exceeded my expectations during this crab fest - friendly reception, beautiful and clean unit, cozy fireplace, good location near main street. definitely worth staying again, even better than my last franz josef stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at this venue! It had everything we needed and more. The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable, with electric blankets to keep us warm at night. The staff were very courteous and helpful, ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The location was perfect, situated in a calm area with beautiful gardens. We loved sitting out on the patio in the evening and watching the kea flying around. It felt like we were on the edge of a rainforest, yet we were still conveniently located in the town center. The amenities provided, such as ironing facilities and a dining table, were of great convenience. We would highly recommend this venue to families looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay.

The secluded motel is surrounded by native bush, a short walk from the township. The large room had a comfortable king-size bed, cozy gas fireplace, and a comfortable leather sofa. The small deck offered privacy and enjoyment amidst the bush. Fresh milk was a nice touch.

there was limited space in the kitchen area which made cooking and washing up a bit difficult at times.
