Takaka, what a charming town! So much local character and all the amenities I needed. The nearby national parks provided breathtaking walks for all fitness levels. And those uncrowded beaches in Golden Bay? Pure bliss.

Oh, how I dreaded those safety features at the property. Who needs fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, security systems, or first aid kits?

We had a fantastic experience at a lovely old house with lots of character. the rooms were well preserved and the staff were very friendly. They gave us plenty of suggestions on what to do in the area, and the restaurants and pubs were only a short walk away. the breakfasts were delicious, and the hospitality was exceptional. the colonial building had a unique ambience with its artful decor. Our room was spacious and well equipped, and the modern bathroom was just next door. the strong wifi and comfy beds were a bonus. it was a great find in the peaceful town.

This hotel is located in a quaint little town close to the Golden Bay area, making it the perfect base for exploring the stunning surroundings. The rooms with a terrace and view to the hills provide a lovely spot to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. The staff at this hotel are incredibly friendly and provide great service, making you feel right at home. The breakfast provided is amazing, with a wide variety of options to choose from.

The hotel could benefit from providing soap or shower gel for the showers, but overall everything was great.

We did have a few minor complaints. the shared bathrooms weren't ideal, and we had some confusion checking in.
