Well equipped kitchen, short walk to central area and ferry port, shops and bars nearby with good, reasonably priced food/drinks, welcoming and responsible hosts.

We had a wonderful stay at a great guest house near the beach. the staff were friendly and professional, and we enjoyed socializing with other guests over drinks and dinner. the location was perfect, just a minute's walk to the swimming beach and a short walk to restaurants, bars, and a convenience store. We also appreciated the proximity to the center of town. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the communal kitchen had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

bay of islands lodge lived up to our expectations and even surpassed our previous stay in paihia. the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the shared areas were clean and well-equipped. we loved the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the place, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring.

Close to everything: This hostel is conveniently located just a short 3-minute walk from the seaside, shops, restaurants, and boats. It's the perfect base for exploring the area and enjoying all that Paihia has to offer.

The cabin-like room was small and lacking in amenities, with only beds and a tiny washroom. It was not suitable or comfortable for a family of three, and our belongings had to be placed on the floor.

I had a fantastic stay at the lodge during the approaching cyclone Gabrielle. Lynn and Andy, the hosts, were incredibly welcoming and responsible. They made sure we felt safe and well taken care of. the lodge had a spacious and well-equipped kitchen, as well as a cozy lounge area to use. the location was ideal, close to the beach and shops. I had a great experience and will definitely return in the future.

The hostess was friendly and helpful, providing us with all the information we needed to explore The Bay of Islands and Cape Reinga. The WiFi was unreliable and had a weak signal towards the end of the building.

It was well-equipped and always kept clean. I appreciated the regular changing of towels and rags, as cleanliness is important to me. the outdoor seating area provided a great space to socialize with other guests, while the private seating area near my room allowed for some quiet time.

The kitchen area was spacious and convenient for preparing meals. Despite a few minor drawbacks such as a lack of fans in the rooms during the summer, we were overall satisfied with our experience. We would recommend this lodge to others looking for a pleasant stay in the Bay of Islands.
