Menu for breakfast could have had more variety.

The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the town, close to the river and surrounded by good restaurants. It is also near everything, making it easy to explore the area. The rooms are bright, clean, and nicely furnished, with a great view of the vineyards and the city. The buffet breakfast offers a good selection of food.

The street in front of the hotel can be rather loud, making it difficult to keep the windows open at night.

We stayed at Original Douro for a weekend getaway and absolutely loved it. The hotel is a beautifully transformed old building, with stylish modern decor that still retains its original charm. The minimalist bedrooms were comfortable and had all the necessary amenities like air conditioning and well-fitting shutters. The breakfast was excellent with homemade preserves, fresh bread and cakes, a good selection of fruit, and delicious yoghurt with a granola topping. The staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant, making our stay even more enjoyable. We also appreciated the convenient location, just a short walk from the station and the river. A definite hidden gem in a picturesque setting!

had an incredible stay in peso da regua this summer. original douro was even better than my previous visit. loved the central location, charming atmosphere, and helpful staff. amazing views from the big balcony and the local breakfast was a delicious start to each day.
