Located near the forest at the start of Transfăgărășan, Hanul Patrisiei is a great base to explore the Transfogarasian highway and make your way to the beautiful Balea Lake. The rooms offer a nice view of the mountains and are clean, with a portable A/C in the attic. The restaurant serves a decent breakfast for guests.

I had a great experience at a hotel located in a beautiful natural setting, right at the beginning of Transfagarasan road. the rooms were spacious and clean, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. the hotel also offered a nice selection of wines. It was an ideal choice for a restful night's sleep, especially considering its proximity to Balea Lac and the fact that breakfast was included in the price. the room had a comfortable bed and a nice mountain view.
