my recent stay at swellendam exceeded all expectations! the lovely owners went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. the breakfasts were delicious, the grounds were stunning with lots of birdlife, and the location was perfect for walking to great restaurants. braeside guest house truly made my break on this long journey unforgettable.

No shower curtain in bathroom.

We stayed at a lovely guest house close enough to town to walk to some restaurants on an afternoon when it rained. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with comfy beds and good AC. The bathroom, although lacking a shower curtain, had a mat to avoid any inconvenience. The service was top-notch, with the friendly staff making us feel welcome. The delicious breakfast served outside overlooking the grounds was a wonderful start to the day. We also enjoyed the well-kept garden and pool area.

One small drawback was the absence of a shower curtain or door in the bathroom, which resulted in a slightly wet floor after showering.

As a bigger group of friends, we enjoyed the beautiful rooms, delightful gardens, and the refreshing pool area. The breakfasts were brilliant, and the staff was very attentive and thoughtful, even accommodating our vegetarian dietary needs. The location was perfect, with easy access to the town, restaurants, and nearby nature reserves.

Felt really comfortable, no complaints.

The breakfast was exceptional, and the attention to detail was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised when our car was cleaned without even having to ask. The location, house, and grounds were lovely, and the owner was always polite and helpful.

The room, bathroom, and communal areas were fantastic. The location was great for exploring the area and also relaxing. The staff, especially Marianna, our host, was very welcoming and organized. The breakfast was delicious.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful late Victorian house. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated. We loved the view from our verandah and enjoyed a delicious gluten-free breakfast, thanks to the kind gestures of the host. The location was perfect, just a short walk away from the charming town of Swellendam, and the surrounding gardens and mountains were stunning. We had the privilege of having the whole place to ourselves, and the staff made us feel right at home. The amenities, including the bar and the pool, added to our wonderful experience. We would definitely choose to stay here again.
