I recently stayed at the Happy Jackal in Colchester for my visit to Addo Elephant Park. The location was ideal, just 1.5 km from the park gate. The hosts and ranger Sean were incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best I had during my trip in South Africa. The beds and rooms were wonderful, and the view of the beautiful river from my window was breathtaking. The peaceful atmosphere and the sound of birds made it a truly relaxing stay. The wifi was reliable, and everything else was perfect.

We recently stayed at the charming Happy Jackal in Colchester for 3 nights. The warm welcome and informative staff made us feel immediately at home. The breakfast spread was magnificent, with a delightful selection of homemade jams to sample. We loved the peaceful location and the beautiful views of the river from our room. Although we didn't have time to use it, the pool looked absolutely gorgeous. The self-catering cottage was spacious enough for our group of 4, and we appreciated the well-equipped facilities and the option to have a BBQ. The cottage was clean and private, with secure parking. our stay at Happy Jackal was the highlight of our trip.

We were a short distance away from Addo Elephant Park, which was perfect for our weekend safari. the breakfast was fantastic and had homemade jams, bread, and eggs cooked to our preference. Limited dining options nearby and a car is necessary to get around. the room was outdated, and some of the dishes were still dirty upon arrival.
