During my stay at Hotel Ibarra, I was pleasantly surprised by the charming and helpful owner, José. When my train broke down, he went out of his way to pick me up from the station, free of charge. The hotel itself is a Swiss-style family-owned establishment with breathtaking views of the lush green valley. The beautifully maintained gardens and individual tables and chairs on the patio outside each room added to the serene ambiance. The breakfast spread was fit for a king, and the rooms were immaculately clean. It felt like the perfect setting for a writer's retreat. Highly recommended. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is situated in the Alpine-looking mountains of Northern Spain, providing a beautiful and serene setting for a peaceful getaway. The rooms, with their little terraces overlooking a very nice garden, offer a delightful escape. The location is also convenient, with an easy walk to the local railway station for a quick trip into nearby Bilbao.

This hotel leaves little room for improvement.

Great location, with beautiful views of the mountains and easy access to nearby train station and market. We enjoyed the cozy ambiance of the rustic village. the breakfast was delicious and lasted until late morning, giving us time to sleep in after long nights of celebrating Christmas. the friendly staff was always willing to help us with recommendations and tourist information.

The lack of comfortable seating in the room made it difficult to relax after a long day of exploring the surroundings. towels were air-dried and a little harsh on the skin.

Lovely room with panoramic mountain views, comfortable bed, spacious ensuite bathroom, fantastic breakfast with local produce, convenient location near train station and motorway.
