We were taken on a magical trip to a local ancient monastery at sunset on his scooter - no mountain too high. the location, right next to the lake where many birds fly around, is truly mesmerizing. the room was spacious, clean with a comfortable mattress, and a stylish bathroom. the food was delicious, varied, and served in a candlelit setting by the lake. the hosts were warm and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, sharing their culture and knowledge.

The lack of eco-friendly practices, such as providing bamboo/metal straws or a water refill station, could be improved.

Randy's place is a rare gem, a delightful surprise during our year of travel. Easily the best place we stayed, with kind and generous hosts. Unexpected treats like fresh fruit juice and homemade coconut cake upon arrival, a guided tour of the village and lake area, and watching fruit bats fly at dusk. Randy arranged a fantastic safari in Yala national park and the food was incredible. Clean, modern rooms with a great bathroom. Randy and his family went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
