Iconic colonial building, stunning gardens, friendly staff, excellent food, clean and comfortable rooms.

The Magnolia restaurant's excellent Sri Lankan chef and tasty food, beautifully presented buffet breakfast, private tour with informative naturalist, comfortable rooms and beds, helpful housekeeping staff, charming 30s atmosphere.

For us it was ideal.

My Easter stay in this hotel was wonderful. I really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the attentive staff. the delicious meals served throughout my stay added to the unique experience. the heated pool was also a plus, and the nearby tea lounge was a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. the hotel's central location made it easy to explore the local area.

The only downside of my stay was the small size of the bathrooms in the rooms. It was a bit of a challenge to move around comfortably, especially when there were more than one person in the bathroom at the same time.

Architecture and interior design impressive. Cosy bar room with excellent drinks. Thai restaurant offers delicious food. Grand café serves good coffee and cakes. Beautiful and well-maintained garden. Great variety at breakfast.

the rooms overlooking the serene rose gardens were stunning. the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was exceptional. the indoor pool was absolutely stunning and added to the overall experience. the hotel has a genuine old English touch that is truly one-of-a-kind. the Indian restaurant on-site served delicious food. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay.

Upon entering this hotel, I was immediately struck by the luxurious ambiance. the Spa & wellness centre was a highlight , the massage and steam room were exceptional. the sun terrace was a perfect spot to relax and unwind. the restaurant and poolside snack bar offered delicious dishes, and the packed lunches were a lifesaver for my busy itinerary. the room advantages were very exclusive , the in, room breakfast was a highlight and the private facilities were impressive. the service was top, notch, always attentive and helpful.

The only negative aspect I encountered was the indoor swimming pool , it was a bit smaller than I expected, but still offered a nice swim experience. this hotel provided me with an unforgettable experience featuring all the exclusive amenities I needed.

the grand hotel in nuwara eliya was a fantastic stay. the beautiful old building and well-maintained grounds exceeded my expectations. the breakfast buffet and indoor pool were amazing. great value for money compared to the neighboring hill club.

check-in was a disappointment

The location is very convenient, with the hotel being very close to the city centre. It is also situated in a gorgeous garden, providing a tranquil atmosphere for guests. The rooms are nicely decorated in an old colonial style, with creaky floorboards adding to the charm. The staff is professional and attentive, providing good service throughout the stay. The breakfast offers a varied selection, catering to both Western and Sri Lankan tastes. Additionally, guests can enjoy the indoor pool and sauna, which are well-kept facilities.

Some guests mentioned a lack of organization, with slow service during meal times.
