I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The value for money was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was great, offering beautiful views of the surrounding area and a peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The cooking classes in the evening were a highlight, not only did they teach us how to make delicious food but it was also a fantastic way to meet and connect with other travelers. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a friendly and enjoyable stay.

As for the breakfast offerings, it would be great if there were a bit more variety to choose from.

loved our stay at the hostel, exceeded expectations from our previous visit in kandy. staff were super helpful and gave great local tips. tuk tuk rides with athula were a highlight. amazing ambience, food, location, and helpful staff. would definitely recommend backpackers for a memorable experience.

Cleanliness issues.

The staff at the hostel were amazing! They were so helpful and kind, recommending the best tuk tuk drivers and even organizing a train journey for us to Ella. The rooftop terrace was a great place to relax and hang out with other guests. Plus, the free cooking class was a highlight of our stay. We learned how to make delicious Sri Lankan food and got to enjoy it together with the other guests.

The rooms were a bit basic and small, but that was not a major concern for us. Additionally, the bathrooms could have been stocked with toilet paper more regularly, and there was an issue with one of the sinks not working properly.

The staff was very nice and helpful. They even offered everyday cooking classes followed by dinner, which was a great way to meet other guests. The food served during the classes was delicious. The hostel had a nice rooftop chill area, a communal kitchen, and a pool. The breakfast provided was enjoyable.
