The location was great, being conveniently close to the city center. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist. The food served was delicious, with a good variety to choose from. The rooms were spacious and clean, offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool, which provided a refreshing escape from the heat.

Although the staff were helpful, there were some issues with the maintenance of certain facilities. We also felt that there could have been more variety in the food options available.

Spending Christmas at this hotel was delightful. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. The breakfast and dinner spread was amazing, and the food was delicious. One of the best aspects was the location, which was very close to the Kataragama temple and offered a nice view of the nearby lake. Another great feature was the easy access to safari tours to Yala National Park, which was a memorable experience.

The towels had an unpleasant odor, which was a bit of a turn-off. However, we requested an extra set of towels and they also had the same odor.

The location, close to Kataragama Sacred City, was convenient for sightseeing.

The amenities at this hotel were not entirely up to their expected standard. The indoor swimming pool had a slight odor, which bothered us, and the leisure room felt cramped.

During my recent stay at Grand Tamarind Lake, I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and well-designed rooms. The views of the Detagamuwa Lake and the surrounding gardens were simply breathtaking. Despite the dry climate, the air conditioning in the rooms kept me cool and comfortable throughout my stay. The hotel staff, including the Head Chef Samarakoon and the F&B Manager Mr. Gerad, went above and beyond to ensure that I had a delightful dining experience with a tantalizing spread of cuisine. They even accommodated my 1 1/2-year-old daughter's food requirements by preparing special dishes for her.
