The hotel is perfectly located right in the center of town, within walking distance from the train station. It provides everything you need for a comfortable stay - from clean rooms with excellent bathrooms, adorned with beautiful traditional painted walls in the Swiss style, to basic amenities like private parking and a nice outdoor patio. The attentive staff ensures that all your needs are met, and the breakfast served is top-notch with fresh and high-quality offerings. Truly a great value for money.

Located on Appenzell's main pedestrian street, Hotel Lowen is in the heart of pretty Appenzell, making it convenient for exploring the region and accessing various activities. The rooms are decently sized, with ample storage and comfortable furnishings. The bathrooms, though small, are adequate and clean. The friendly staff provides excellent service, allowing guests to store their luggage before and after check-in. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options, including pastries, cheeses, cereal, eggs, juice. Some rooms even offer lovely views of the surrounding hills.

Reading in bed can be challenging due to the low level of lighting.

Affordable hotel with friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet, and convenient location near colorful buildings and train station. Easy access to nearby Ebenalp for hiking and scenic views. Appenzell Holiday Card for free travel is a great bonus.

The hotel is located in the heart of a charming town, close to everything that a business traveler may need. It is also easy to get to from the train station, which is very convenient. the staff are friendly and really helpful, offering great advice. the breakfast is excellent and has amazing views from the breakfast room.

The room I stayed in had no air conditioning, which may be uncomfortable for some travelers in hot seasons. the window had to be kept open for ventilation, which made the room noisy due to the location of the hotel.
