Easter weekend was lovely at this hotel. the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped with a microwave and kettle. the free fresh milk was a nice touch. the off-road parking was a bonus and the price was great.

As for the negative aspects, the shower curtain wasn't ideal as it tended to stick to you during the shower. the hot tap was very slow and never quite got hot.

I absolutely loved the location of this accommodation. It's right next to the sea, offering breathtaking views. Plus, being close to the Creetown Heritage Centre museum means there's plenty of history to explore. I can't wait to visit the local pub on the lodge site and enjoy some delicious drinks. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff provided a warm and welcoming service.

I had a fantastic stay at Barholm. As a solo traveler, I stayed for a week and felt completely at ease. The rooms were spacious and offered a beautiful view of the hillside. The shared kitchen was always spotless and well-stocked with tea and coffee. The bunk bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure and instant hot water. The staff were extremely helpful, and parking was conveniently located behind the building. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this hotel.

just had an amazing stay at this renovated building in creetown. warm, modern rooms, a communal kitchen, and outstanding staff made my experience unforgettable. great location for exploring galloway forest and wigtown. definitely exceeded expectations for affordable accommodation near the village shop and pub. will be back soon!

toilet paper issue

Located in a beautiful area, close to the Belfast ferry in Cairnryan and the Creetown Heritage Centre museum. The hotel is conveniently situated in the center of town, making it easy to explore the surroundings. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with fresh bedding and ensuite bathrooms. The staff is helpful, providing directions and assistance when needed. there is a communal kitchen available for guests to prepare meals.

The shared kitchen can be crowded, with only one microwave and kettle available for seven rooms.

The location is convenient, as it is only a short drive from the Belfast ferry in Cairnryan, making it an ideal choice for those traveling by ferry. Additionally, there is a local pub on the lodge site, providing guests with a nearby option for meals and drinks. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering excellent local knowledge and ensuring that guests are aware of the restaurant closure on certain nights. The accommodation is also close to the Creetown Heritage Centre museum, allowing guests to explore the local history.

I had a great stay at this hotel in Creetown. the prices were incredibly reasonable, providing excellent value for money. Secondly, the attention to detail was impressive, with clean and well-maintained rooms that offered ensuite facilities at youth hostel prices. The beds were comfy, ensuring a good night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel provided access to a well-stocked kitchen, allowing guests to prepare their own meals.

Great location on National Cycle Route 7, in the heart of a charming village. Affordable, clean rooms with modern facilities. Staff member was welcoming and helpful. Conveniently close to a village shop and pub. Easily accessible from the ferry terminal at Cairnryan.

As an older traveller, I found Barholm to be the ideal hotel for my needs. The light and spotless room, along with the excellent en suite facilities, were perfect, even for a disabled person and carer. The warm and modern rooms, along with the communal kitchen, were a great addition. The staff, especially Panny, were outstanding - welcoming and helpful. The location near a village shop and pub was convenient, and the array of nearby restaurants was fantastic. The renovation of this once derelict building into affordable accommodation is impressive.
