Karen at Lodge Castle was fantastic and very friendly upon our arrival. the afternoon tea was one of the best I've ever had, with delicious scones and homemade jam. the room was spacious and comfortable, with tea, coffee, and a fruit bowl waiting for us. the jacuzzi and sauna area was lovely and secluded. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, with perfectly poached eggs and a selection of hot items from the buffet. Highly recommended for a short break away.

The location of the hotel was convenient for visiting nearby attractions such as Farleigh Hungerford Castle, Iford Manor & beautiful gardens, the Longleat Estate, Lacock and Castle Combe villages. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a nice fruit bowl and tea and coffee provided. The staff was friendly and welcoming, offering a glass of wine as compensation for a minor inconvenience. The breakfast was fantastic, with perfectly poached eggs and a good selection of hot items and cereals.

The noise from the busy main road just outside the hotel could be disruptive.

We were pleasantly surprised by the unique and historic atmosphere of the hotel. The building had a quirky charm that added to our overall experience. The room we stayed in was well-fitted and clean, and we especially enjoyed the balcony. the hot tub provided a relaxing way to unwind after a long day.

One negative aspect was the lack of basic amenities. We were disappointed to find that there was no soap provided in the bathroom, and the two small bottles of water in the room were not sufficient.

Really friendly staff, excellent breakfast choice including kedgeree. Easy parking. Warm and inviting room with unique decor. Tailor-made menu for dietary needs. Professional and courteous service.
