I recently stayed at the Bay Horse in York for a couple of nights. The hotel's location is perfect, as it is close to the railway station and city walls, making it easy to explore all the major tourist attractions on foot. I appreciated the peace and quiet, especially in the rooms facing the side street. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and it was a unique experience staying on top of the pub. Additionally, the value for money was exceptional, with a competitive price and complimentary allocated parking spaces, which are hard to find in the city center.

The location of this inn is superb, with easy access to the main railway and bus station. the breakfast was excellent, especially the tasty English breakfast. Although the breakfast time is limited from 9am to 10am, the efficient lady who prepared our meal ensured we didn't have to wait long, even though we had to rush and leave before 9.30am. the owners are very cheerful and welcoming, and the fresh cooked-to-order breakfast adds to the positive experience. the snug/bar area has a warm and friendly atmosphere, ideal for socializing with a mix of guests, locals, and walk-ins. the room with its enormous en suite bathroom was renovated to a nice standard, and the historic charm of the 1500s building added to the perfect stay.

The hot breakfast was excellent. The room had a great layout and was not noisy despite facing the main road. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal location for the racecourse and train station. The owner and staff made the stay enjoyable with their warm welcome and friendly interactions.

We were in York to see Gaz Coombes perform at the Crescent, and Bay Horse couldn't have been more conveniently located, just 100 meters away. The room was spacious and clean, with nice furnishings and a surprisingly great view of the main street. The freshly painted rooms and hallway were a nice touch. The complimentary Yorkshire tea and coffee in the room was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast, served in the pub's back area, was delicious and prepared fresh to order. The friendly staff and comfortable beds made for a great night's sleep. Free parking was a bonus!

Had an absolutely beautiful stay at the Bay Horse. Carrie was so lovely and friendly, telling us about happy hour and recommending places to drink. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a lovely bathroom. Met a great girl behind the bar who recommended places to eat and drink. a lovely stay with helpful and friendly staff. We booked a stay at Bay Horse because we wanted a historic property near the train station and central location. the innkeeper provided a warm welcome and a fascinating history of the place, which dates back to the 1500s. the room, although a bit cramped, was well-designed with a spacious wardrobe and a nice dressing area. the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was exceptional, served by friendly and accommodating staff. It was also conveniently located near the old city walls and had great transportation links. Plus, there was a Sainsburys nearby for any last-minute shopping needs. Bay Horse provided a charming and convenient stay in York.

We had a wonderful stay at a cozy inn in a perfect location. the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. They even stayed up with me until my partner returned after we had a night out. the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a good size for our needs. Despite some noise from the pub below, it was no more disruptive than typical street sounds. a delightful experience at the Bay Horse.
