Recently spent New Year's at a hotel in County Durham. the rooms were fantastic, super cozy and clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by the large jacuzzi bath in our room. the food was exceptional, from the delicious evening meal to the scrumptious cream tea and hearty breakfast. the location was perfect, offering a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful grounds and deer.

There were a couple of downsides. We had to ask for a table to be cleaned, and the hand sanitizers around the deer enclosure were empty.

Gorgeous setting in a park with friendly and helpful staff. Lovely well-presented breakfast with wide choice. Safe distancing rules followed, with packs for bathroom and beverages. Exceptional evening meal with five choices for all courses. Clean rooms with delightful view. Socially distanced Library Restaurant a delight.

I recently stayed at this beautiful 4-star hotel nestled within a serene deer park. The location of this place is absolutely stunning, surrounded by well-kept gardens and offering breathtaking views of the dene. The old library, where the dining restaurant is situated, creates a truly atmospheric dining experience. The staff here were exceptional, from the friendly receptionist who went out of their way to assist me, to the restaurant manager who ensured that my dining experience was perfect. The service here was impeccable, and I couldn't fault the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and comfortable stay. The stunning location, impeccable service, and well-maintained facilities make it a truly exceptional choice.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say, the setting is absolutely stunning. The grounds are beautifully maintained and it was a delight to feed the deer roaming around. The hotel is surrounded by lovely places for walks, perfect for enjoying the picturesque surroundings.

Although the afternoon tea was slightly overpriced and there was a slight wait for it, the variety of savoury and sweet treats made up for it. The only suggestion I have is to provide smaller muffins for younger guests during afternoon tea.

Great location, beautiful venue, excellent service by Maitre D despite busy evening with a Christmas party. Good breakfast, happy with our stay, will come back.

We stayed at the beautiful Whitworth Hall Hotel for a weekend getaway. The period house and grounds were stunning, especially the deer park. The communal rooms were attractive and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and good value for money. The cleanliness of the rooms was exceptional, and we enjoyed the breathtaking view of the Dene. The breakfast choices were made to order and brought to our table, and the Library Restaurant was a delightful place to dine. We even had the opportunity to hand feed the deer, which was a wonderful bonus. We can't wait to return in the future.

The hotel was not fully accessible for people with disabilities, staff was not accommodating and the z bed that we had requested was not in the room when we arrived. Wi-Fi was poor and inconsistent, and the room's temperature was not controllable.
