I had a wonderful stay at a bed and breakfast in Lochboisdale, South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. The location was fantastic, close to the Lochboisdale and Eriskay ferries. The rooms and house were well-equipped and had hotel-quality service. The owner, Rupert, was incredibly helpful and provided booklet guides for day trips on the islands. He even assisted us when our ferry was disrupted, helping us plan an alternative route and offering to drive us to the shop to buy food. a great experience at Brae Lea House.

During our stay at Brae Lea House in Lochboisdale, South Uist, we were impressed by the warm welcome and hospitality shown by Rupert, our knowledgeable host. The comfortable and spacious double room provided a peaceful night's sleep, and the delicious breakfasts prepared by Rupert were a great start to our days. Although our stay was brief, we appreciated the attention to detail, such as the helpful booklet about the area and the thoughtful 'breakfast to go' for our early ferry departure. The location was convenient for the ferry terminal and Rupert's recommendations for places to visit and dine were excellent. Despite a minor inconvenience of not having a designated place to dry our wet footwear, we had an enjoyable stay overall.

Amazing breakfast with a wide selection of dishes including veggie sausages and veggie haggis! the local coffee and bread used for toast were delicious. the host went above and beyond, providing a larger room due to a cancellation and offering helpful recommendations for the area. the guidebook provided in the room was a great touch and enhanced our visit. We also appreciated the host's assistance with a ferry issue and his willingness to make calls for us when our phone signal was weak.

Some areas of the accommodation looked tired and in need of upgrading, such as the mouldy silicone around the shower.

Our room was cozy and comfortable, with a private shower room that had all the necessary amenities. The highlight was definitely the delicious breakfast, featuring locally sourced ingredients like veggie sausages and haggis. The host, Rupert, went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and even provided a helpful guide to the islands. a truly memorable experience.

Just a personal preference, but it would have been nice to have a TV in the room for some evening entertainment.

Our room was spacious and well-equipped with a large bed, desk, table and chairs, and a lovely en-suite bathroom. the attention to detail was exceptional, from the strong Wi-Fi to the complimentary tea and coffee in the room. the highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast, which was the best we had during our trip. Rupert's knowledge of the area and the guidebook he provided were invaluable in helping us make the most of our time exploring the islands. If you're looking for a luxurious and comfortable base from which to explore the Uists, we highly recommend staying at Brae Lea House.

I had an incredible stay at this B&B. The location was perfect - a short walk from the city center on a quiet road with a beautiful view. The hotel had a lovely garden that attracted wildlife. The owner, Rupert, was an excellent host who was friendly, interesting, and well-informed about the area. He provided a comprehensive guidebook with recommendations for driving, walking, and dining. The breakfast was outstanding, with a good choice of options and no extra cost for cooked specialties. The rooms were comfortable and the amenities were top-notch.

Brae Lea House is a real find! The compact room has everything you need, including USB ports. The stylish bathroom and good shower add to the comfort. The breakfasts are delicious and the host, Rupert, is incredibly welcoming and helpful. He has a wealth of information about wildlife, good views, and places to eat. His guidebook for guests is informative and funny. The veggie sausages and veggie haggis at breakfast are a great touch. Rupert is also very helpful with any issues or ferry cancellations. a fantastic place to stay with a brilliant host.

Felt right at home, no complaints.

I had a wonderful stay at a bed and breakfast in Lochboisdale, South Uist. The host at Brae Lea House was Rupert, who was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. The breakfasts he prepared were superb, and he made sure to be present throughout my stay to ensure I had everything I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the house itself was situated in a quiet location. it was a pleasure getting to know Rupert and experiencing such warm hospitality.

One small drawback was that the location of Brae Lea House was not obvious to find. 🗺️ However, once you did locate it, the lovely property made up for the initial difficulty.

We even discovered a gin distillery thanks to his advice! The breakfast was delicious, and we appreciated the 'pack up' breakfast we received when we had to catch an early ferry. The location was perfect, just 5 minutes from the ferry port, and the house was spotlessly clean with all the necessary facilities. a wonderful experience that we would highly recommend.

The host, Rupert, was pleasant and went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The breakfast, especially the tangy little tomatoes, was delicious, and there was plenty of good coffee. The rooms were well-equipped and the hotel offered EV chargers. Rupert provided helpful recommendations and even gave me a lift to a nearby hotel in the rain. I would definitely return to Brae Lea House.
