Great location for exploring Castle Mey and Orkneys. Friendly hosts, comfy bed, and fluffy towels. Extensive evening menu and delicious breakfast. Nice bar and restaurant. Convenient for John o'Groats and a visit to the Orkneys.

The rooms were spacious and well-equipped, with attention to detail. The hotel had a great lounge area and dining room. The secure garden and circular walk in the field at the back were perfect for travelers with dogs. The staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating.

We had a great stay at this newly-refurbished hotel for two days. The owners and staff were welcoming and accommodating, even allowing our dog. The room was well-decorated and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The food was delicious, with a great menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we even had a unique evening with Belgian policemen playing bagpipes. a peaceful and enjoyable experience, and we think the hotel will only get better under its new management.

The Mey Hotel is situated in a great location for exploring local attractions, such as the Pentland ferry terminal. The bar area or lounge provides a cozy atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying some drinks. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and nice seating areas. The ensuite bathrooms are spotless and well-equipped with plenty of towels and toiletries. The breakfast served at the hotel is excellent and plentiful, ensuring a satisfying start to the day.

Some guests reported that the owner/Manager seemed disinterested in his guests, which could be improved for a more welcoming experience.

We stayed in a wonderful small hotel that was perfectly located near the local Castle of Mey. The room was modern, exceptionally clean, and well appointed with everything we needed. The hotel is also very close to the Queen mother's castle in Mey, which offers stunning views. The rooms are spacious and clean, with newly refurbished bathrooms. The friendly hosts made us feel right at home and provided excellent service. The delicious food at breakfast and dinner was a highlight of our stay.

The internet connection at the hotel was quite poor, but it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it allowed us to disconnect and truly relax during our stay.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of value for money. The prices were reasonable and affordable, making it a great option for a budget-friendly stay. We also appreciated the attention to detail in the rooms, particularly the lovely bathroom with a good shower in the en suite. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The basic amenities were all provided, and the rooms were comfortable with great beds. We especially enjoyed the breakfast, which included a perfect poached egg and had a good variety, although we wish the sausages were of better quality. The location of the hotel, just across the road from the Castle of Meý nearby, was also a plus point as it allowed us to explore the surrounding area conveniently.
