I loved the comfortable and well-organized cottage, with its beautiful decorations and great balcony overlooking the relaxing woodland views. The fact that each bedroom had its own bathroom was a great convenience, and the open plan kitchen/diner/lounge was a brilliant social space. The location was peaceful yet accessible, with easy access to nearby Sandsend and the main coast road. the cleanliness, hotel facilities, and staff were impressive.

The cottage was not wheelchair accessible or suitable for those with mobility issues. The steep pathways and gradients made it difficult for people who need walking aids or a wheelchair.

Convenient key box check-in process. Beautiful setting with a peaceful atmosphere. the cottage layout was great for a group of friends, with each bedroom having its own bathroom. the open kitchen/dining/living area was spacious and perfect for socializing. the location was ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions and public transportation.

Lack of basic amenities such as tea towels and oven gloves made cooking and eating in inconvenient. the TV setup was not user-friendly, relying on streaming services with buffering issues.

Discovery Cottage was a great find for a solo traveler like myself. The location was perfect, just a short 10-minute walk to Sandsend and a bus stop at the end of the hotel lane for easy access to Whitby. The cottage itself was spacious with 3 en suite bedrooms, a beautiful open-plan living area, and a well-equipped kitchen. The outside patio area, although shaded, provided a lovely spot to observe wildlife. the cottage was comfortable, well-organized, and decorated beautifully.

Felt warm, no complaints whatsoever.
