We were thrilled with our stay at Doonbank Cottage Bothy. The location was absolutely perfect, surrounded by peaceful forests and with a stunning view of the River Doon. The cottage itself was a hidden gem, beautifully decorated and well-equipped, making us feel right at home. The little touches like homemade scones and fresh eggs added a special touch to our stay. We loved sitting in the private garden area, sipping our morning coffee and soaking in the tranquility. The comfortable bed and the Juliet balcony with amazing views made our nights truly magical. We even had a lovely fire in the pit one evening, enjoying the peaceful ambiance. The owners were welcoming and thoughtful, making our partner's birthday extra special with a birthday banner and a lovely card. The location was also ideal for our dog, with a secure garden area and access to a private river bank for picnics. Though there were a few minor drawbacks, like the shrubbery needing a bit of TLC and the vacuum cleaner being less than ideal, they didn't detract from our overall wonderful experience. We would highly recommend Doonbank Cottage Bothy for a peaceful getaway. we'll definitely be recommending this lovely cottage to others.

The grounds and woodland were perfect for leisurely walks and provided a sense of tranquility. Additionally, the bothy itself was well-equipped with everything I needed for a short stay. The warm scones and biscuits that were provided upon arrival were a lovely touch. The owner also offered a dog sitting service, which was convenient when I went out for dinner. The shower had constant hot water and the bed was incredibly comfortable. the combination of the beautiful scenery, cozy accommodations, and excellent amenities made for a truly memorable experience.

I had the most wonderful stay at this hidden gem. The host, Susan, warmly welcomed us and gave us a tour of the beautiful property. The bothy, which is essentially a one-bedroom apartment, was clean and well-maintained. The large bedroom even had a balcony overlooking the stunning river. I particularly loved the fact that there was a safe enclosed garden for my dogs to play in. Susan's homemade scones and free-range eggs were such a lovely gesture, and the surrounding scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The location is perfect for exploring Ayrshire, with woodland walks and beaches nearby. I can't wait to return to this little piece of heaven on earth.

The location of the accommodation is idyllic, situated by the river with stunning views. The property itself is well-appointed with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. Guests are welcomed with freshly made scones and there are even fresh eggs provided. The enclosed private garden is perfect for families with children and pets, offering plenty of space to play and relax.

The size of the settee could be improved, especially for taller guests who may find it less comfortable for longer stays.

As longer-term business travelers, we were impressed with the cleanliness and available facilities at this hidden gem. The 4.5 acres of grounds were a delight to explore, with Bee hives tucked away, a scenic Salmon River running through, and fresh eggs from the Chickens for breakfast. The couple running the property were genuine and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We cannot believe the value for money and will definitely refer this property to friends and family.
